The Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History is thrilled to be partnering with the Sempervirens Fund to offer Jumbo July, a series highlighting enormous trees, forest-dwelling giants, and our collaborative exhibit: Treasured Trees: The Story of Coast Redwoods

While California might be famous for coast redwoods, get your passport ready as this Jumbo July lecture takes us overseas to explore the impact of the redwoods across Europe. These majestic trees, introduced by Victorians, are often found in public parks and country estates, and thrive despite not being native to the region. But how did they get there, and why?
