Pre-registration required. Limited to 20 participants.
Location: Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History
For active Pat & Kirk Smith Club and above Members, Business Partners, and Lifetime Members

In 1929 Humphrey Pilkington bequeathed his large collection of Native American artifacts to the City of Santa Cruz under the condition that a museum be established to store and display it. Pilkington was a forester and agriculturist and was the first warden at California Redwood Park (now Big Basin Redwoods State Park). Join Executive Director Heather McCoy and Collections Specialist Kathleen Aston for a rare look at specimens and artifacts from Pilkington’s collection. We will begin the morning with pastries and coffee in the Museum. We’ll then head down to the Museum basement to learn about Pilkington’s collection and his legacy.
